President Biden put some real special characters in positions of power as a part of his administration. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been behind some of his most ignorant decisions, and now they will be the ones overseeing the handout of money from taxpayers to the border crossers and illegal aliens being dumped into American cities across the US.
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program was set up specifically to receive and disperse funds on behalf of the DHS for their services across the US. According to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “With today’s funding of $350 million for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, DHS is delivering on our commitment to provide needed support to communities across the country that receive noncitizens who are in immigration enforcement proceedings.”
Since the rush on the southern border was started, DHS has already blown through $75 million “to fund costs incurred by localities and non-governmental organizations,” with minimal oversight as to how they spent the money or who received the funds. The additional funds were authorized by Congress and are already expected to explode to $800 million for covering services supporting the border jumpers and illegal aliens.
This money is being spent as another tool to prop up Biden’s Catch and Release programs across the US. Even with the funding increase, villages across the nation have been forced to make do with fewer resources than in years before. With tens of thousands of them sweeping the nation through their release into the US interior every month, there are few cities and communities that haven’t had their share of illegals being dropped off in the middle of the night.
The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project has been keeping a close eye on the activities of Biden’s DHS with the surge in illegals crossing the border. They have documented the release of illegals in all 50 US states. According to the latest estimates, from Jan 2021 to Jan 2023 the Biden administration has released over 2,000,000 border crossers and illegal aliens across the nation.
An injection of funding like this doesn’t address the problems plaguing the places these illegals are now calling home. Instead, it’s simply a slap in the face as Washington tells leadership across the nation to deal with it. Considering the costs of feeding and clothing them in NYC alone, this kind of funding isn’t enough to handle the problem anywhere.
Even in rural places like Western NY where the population has been consistently declining, they don’t have the infrastructure to handle these illegals. There isn’t enough available housing, jobs, training, or opportunity to keep Americans who already call the area home gainfully employed. By introducing more unskilled labor in the way of these illegals, Biden has then taken away the opportunity of the less educated.
Much like the funding Biden blew by sending it to Ukraine, this money could be better served by protecting our border and keeping them from crossing over. With the US being used as a crossing point by many illegals, Canada is now starting to deal with our problems as it relates to illegal immigration. While it’s not something we’d like to see happening along our northern border, its timing seems more like the left trying to prove a point, and call conservatives “racist” for saying the southern border is a large problem.
In places like NYC where they are trying to figure out what to do with them, many of the illegals have resorted to their favorite pastimes like theft, robbery, rape, and murder. Equipped with the mindset that they can do no wrong, and President Biden and his associates will protect them, they have brought their destruction here to the US and the left is encouraging it at every turn.
